David Ferrera is a seasoned engineer, entrepreneur, inventor, and advisor with nearly 30 years of experience in the medical device industry. Known for his ability to take ideas from concept to commercialization, David has developed groundbreaking technologies that have shaped the fields of interventional radiology and neurovascular medicine. He is currently the CEO of RC Medical, a medical device venture studio dedicated to funding, designing, and commercializing innovations for the interventional radiology market. RC Medical partners with physician-entrepreneurs to transform real-world clinical needs into viable products. Under David’s leadership, the firm has launched several new companies, including Single Pass, Infinity Neuro, and Sonorous NV, each aimed at improving patient outcomes through engineering and creativity. In addition, David serves as CEO and Chairman of Sonorous Neuro, continuing his mission to advance neurovascular technologies that enhance the treatment of stroke and related conditions. Previously, he served as Chief Technology Officer of Balt Global in France, where he led product innovation in hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke therapies. Earlier in his career, David co-founded Blockade Medical and served as its President and CTO until its successful acquisition by Balt Extrusion in 2016. His leadership helped pioneer several first-generation thrombectomy systems at MindFrame Inc., which was later acquired by Medtronic Neurovascular. Throughout his career, David has held key engineering and leadership roles at Microvention (Terumo Corporation), Micrus Endovascular (Johnson & Johnson), Boston Scientific, and IMPRA (Bard). His expertise has resulted in over 80 U.S. and international patents, positioning him as a recognized innovator in medical device development.
